Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Digital Design

120 Total Required Hours
42 In-Major Required Hours
16 Elective Hours

Once you complete your introductory courses in the B.A. degree program, you will be asked to declare a track of your preference. The track will allow you to specialize in either Graphic Design, Game Art & Animation or Interactive Design. Due to the competitive and in-depth nature of these fields, we provide coursework specific to these fields to prepare you for success upon graduation. The B.A. allows for the most courses and electives during your time at Tulane SoPA. This degree program will allow thorough portfolio development and the greatest flexibility if you wish to take courses in other tracks.

REVIEWS

You will undergo a formal review of your creative coursework in order to enroll in additional courses. There are two reviews you will encounter during their matriculation. The lower-level review occurs when you completes Block One of coursework. The upper-level review occurs after you complete Block Three or Four depending on your declared track.  Discerning admission into upper level coursework ensures elevated professionalism of program graduates. Requirements include a portfolio review of 10 design works and a reflexive essay. For more information about the reviews, please contact your program director.

Post-Baccalaureate Certificate

30 Total Required Hours

The Post-Baccalaureate Certificates are available to students who have already earned a bachelors’ degree, even in an unrelated academic discipline. You will complete 1o courses (30 credit hours) in the track of your choice.

Digital Design Minor

18 Total Required Hours

Minoring in digital design allows you to complete 6 courses (18 credit hours) in the track of your choice. This is a great option to gain additional experience within another track other than your major.
